Pork Reservation FAQs
-
We often recommend purchasing a whole pig and splitting it with a family member or friend. Home Meats currently charges a lower processing rate for whole pigs than for half pigs, which can help reduce overall processing costs while still allowing each household to take home approximately half of the pork.
**If you plan to split a pig, one person should complete the reservation and coordinate payment and processing instructions with the other party.
-
A whole pig typically requires approximately 14–16 cubic feet of freezer space. A half pig generally requires about 7–8 cubic feet.
-
The farm portion is priced per pound based on the pig's hanging weight. Processing fees are paid separately to Home Meats and vary based on the cuts and services selected.
